General Business

  • It has been noted that some players are wearing their Rep t-shirts at tournaments. These t-shirts are for rep tournaments only. This will be mentioned to those concerned and will be mentioned at the beginning of the next MPA tournament.
  • There has been multiple requests to reinstate the Champion of Champions tournament. The committee agrees that this tournament is still a good idea but needs to be shortened to 2 weeks of play, single frames and best of 3 for the final. The top 4 teams to play: 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3 winners through to the final. To be played on Tuesday’s dates to be decided. As the Champion of Champions was eliminated at the last AGM this replacement version is to be discussed at the next AGM

                                                                                                   Gail Perano / Bob Henderson

  • Mike Budny to talk with COM about the food for the Nelson Marlborough tournament
  • Bob Henderson has been asked to be the Marlborough representative for “Pool for Schools”. This is for secondary schools and they will play the Chartered Club rules starting on the 15th May for 6 weeks of coaching on Thursday afternoon at the Clubs of Marlborough and will be open to anyone who wants to play or learn to play. These sessions are not for "A" grade players. Top 4 players will be selected and receive funding to play Nelson Marlborough tournament with a coach and a chaperone.
  • The Redwood team Stickmen was pulled from interclub by Barry Gane due to the lack of players. Mike Budny will have a talk to the remaining players and try to get the team together and back into interclub (since Meeting Stickmen has been reinstated)
